The high price of Bulgarian Rose Oil, also called “liquid gold” comes from the big quantity of fresh rose blossoms necessary for its extraction. One gram of Rose Oil is obtained from about 1000 fresh oil-yielding roses (it takes 4 tons of roses to make just 1 kg of Rose Oil).

Rosa Damascena possesses a truly unique composition of more than 300 substances, including vitamins, minerals (Almost all mineral substances of Mendeleyev’s periodic table), antioxidants and many others, some of which are found nowhere else.
Rose oil contains Vitamin C, carotene, B group vitamins and vitamin K which are essential for hemopoiesis. They contain calcium that influences metabolism and assimilation of foodstuffs; also potassium which is important for normal heart activity, copper which participates in hemopoiesis and improves the activity of endocrine glands; iodine which is good for the thyroid gland can be also found in rose petals.
